The 2014 Third National Evaporation and Crystallization Technology Conference, hosted by the Evaporation and Crystallization Technology Professional Group of the Technical Equipment Office of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, was held at the Shahu Holiday Hotel in Shizuishan, Ningxia. Yue Han and Fu Xianli from the Debang Environmental Protection Business Unit attended the conference.

The theme of this meeting is: Due to the overall deterioration trend of China's environmental conditions not being fundamentally curbed, environmental contradictions have become prominent, and the emissions of major pollutants in many regions exceed the environmental capacity. Environmental pressure is forcing various petrochemical industries to upgrade their emission standards, and promoting zero discharge technology for industrial wastewater has been put on an important agenda. In the zero discharge treatment of wastewater, evaporation and crystallization are important operating units, and their energy consumption and operating level directly affect the completion of energy-saving and emission reduction tasks in the petrochemical industry. In order to accelerate the improvement of the technical level of evaporation and crystallization equipment in China, especially to summarize the special application of MVR technology in the high salt wastewater treatment industry, and to exchange and solve practical problems in the application process, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation held this conference.

Top companies engaged in zero discharge of wastewater at home and abroad, numerous higher education institutions and research institutes researching evaporative crystallization technology, industry experts and scholars have submitted special papers or delivered special speeches. More than 150 people from the industry participated in this conference. In addition, domestic MVR compressor manufacturers, membrane distillation manufacturers, and crystallization equipment professional manufacturers also made special presentations and exchanges.

Through this meeting, the basic technical route for the "zero discharge" process of high salt wastewater was clarified, the technological innovation of "zero discharge" equipment was pointed out, and constructive suggestions were put forward for the implementation of "zero discharge" projects.
